Chelsea Wolfe - Biography
Chelsea Wolfe is a Calfornia-based doom-folk singer/songrwiter. Originally from Sacramento, CA, Wolfe released her debut album, The Grime & the Glow (Pendu Sound Recordings), in 2010. The next year Wolfe moved to Los Angeles and released her sophomore album, Apokalypsis (Pendu Sound Recordings). To support Apokylpsis, Wolfe performed at Amoeba Hollywood on March 5, 2012. Watch the performance here. She signed to Sargent House in 2012 and, in October of that year, released Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs. Wolfe returned to the Amoeba Hollywood stage on October 21, 2012 to performs songs from Unknown Rooms.
2013 saw two releases from Wolfe. First was an EP of covers of Rudimentary Peni songs called Prayer for the Unborn (Latitudes). Then on September 3, 2013 Wolfe released her fourth album, Pain is Beauty (Sargent House), which found her going between Northern California and her current home of Los Angeles for the recording sessions. Pain is Beauty was praised by our reviewer who declared it her "strongest album yet."
