Deltron 3030 - Biography
Deltron 3030 is a hugely influential underground hip-hop supergroup consisting of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator and Kid Koala. In 2000, the group released their self-titled debut, a concept album wherein Del's alter ego, Deltron Zero, travels through the galaxy, fighting the evil corporations that control the universe in the year 3030. The trio joined Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett to create the 2001 debut album for Gorillaz, which caused renewed interest in the Deltron 3030 project.
Thirteen years after their debut, Deltron 3030 released a followup, Event 2, which continues the earlier album's space theme and features guest appearances from Damon Albarn, Zach De La Rocha, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Amber Tamblyn and David Cross. Within the past few years the band has been touring extensively, with dates across Europe and North America.
