DJ A-Trak - Biography
To call A-Trak an accomplished DJ/turntablist is an understatement. Not only was the Canadian the first ever performer to win all three major DJ competitions (DMC, Vestax, ITF), he is also the first DJ to win five DMC World Championships. In 1997, Alain Macklovitch won the DMC World Championship at the age of fifteen, making him the youngest person to ever win the title. He was an honorary member of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz turntablist crew and was recruited by Kanye West to work as his tour DJ. In 2009, A-Trak collaborated with Armand Van Helden to create chart-topping disco house act Duck Sauce.
A-Trak is also the co-founder of Fool's Gold Records. On October 12, 2014 the label takes over LA's Shrine Auditorium for an evening with Danny Brown, Vic Mensa, Travis Scott, Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Gladiator, Kurupt (Tha Dogg Pound), Kittens, and of course, label owners Nick Catchdubs and A-Trak himself. A-Trak is on tour this fall.
