Frankie Laine - Biography
Frankie Laine was born in 1913 on the Near West Side of Chicago. He died in San Diego, california in 2007. He was one of the premiere post world war 2 song stylists, emerging as a new type of pop vocalist, challenging the popularity of Frank Sinatra, subplanting Old Blue Eyes for a spell in the late 1940s as the vocalist of choice for many. He remained popular into the 1950s ans 60s by singing theme songs to popular westerns.
