Joe Lynn Turner is a rock vocalist of particular distinction- with a pliable, flexible voice that has been used to great effect, first in his own band Fandango (1977-1980), followed by the hard rock band Rainbow, where he helped produce such international hits as "Stone Cold, "Street Of Dreams," "Death Alley Driver," and "I Surrender," from 1981 to 1984. Turner then released a solo record in 1985, entitled Rescue You, which produced the heavily rotated single "Endlessly." In 1988 he joined Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, leaving in 1989 to join Deep Purple, releasing Slaves & Masters in 1990. During all of this activity, Turner was an in demand studio vocalist, singing on many records for the likes of Cher, Michael Bolton, Don Johnson, John Waite, Paul Carrack, Billy Joel, and Bonnie Tyler. In the mid 90s he re ignited his solo career, which continues to this day, in between varied projects with bands such as Mother's Army, Brazen Abbot, Hughes-Turner Project, The Jan Holberg Project, and Sunstorm- keeping the man's many talents for writing, arranging, singing, and producing in demand. Although Joe Lynn Turner's style of hard pop, album oriented rock (AOR) is a bigger sell in Europe than here in the free world, once stateside hillbillies hear Turner's silky pipes, they typically nod in approval.
