Mayer Hawthorne - Biography

Mayer Hawthorne is a singer, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Hawthorne was deeply influenced by the soul and jazz music from Detroit. He has produced and played instruments most of his life, but isn't formally trained. Still, he performs and arranges nearly every element of his retro-soul inspired music. Hawthorne was signed to Stones Throw Records after label owner Peanut Butter Wolf heard only two songs. His debut full-length, A Strange Arrangement, was released on Stones Throw in 2009. His sophomore album, How Do You Do, was released on October 11, 2011. Hawthorne's third album, Where Does This Door Go, was released on July 16, 2013.
