Phantogram - Biography
Phantogram is an electronic rock duo from upstate New York consisting of longtime friends Josh Carter (guitar/vocals) and Sarah Barthel (keyboards/vocals). Originally known as Charlie Everywhere, the band changed its name to Phantogram--a type of optical illusion in which two dimensional objects seem to be three dimensional--to coincide with the release of their 2009 self-titled EP. Later that year BBE Records released the band's debut studio LP, Eyelid Movies, in Europe. In 2010, Barsuk Records released the album in the US to critical acclaim.
Since that time, Phantogram have released two more EPs and another full-length, 2014's Voices. They have toured and performed with Beach House, The Antlers, Metric, The xx, Yeasayer, School of Seven Bells, Future Islands and M83. They collaborated with Big Boi of Outkast on his second album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Phantogram has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and performed twice on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. They have also taken the stage at major festivals such as Coachella, Sasquatch, and Lollapalooza.
