Tijuana Panthers - Biography
Tijuana Panthers are a Long Beach surf/punk/garage trio consisting of Chad Wachtel (guitar), Daniel Michicoff (bass) and Phil Shaheen (drums). The band first met as teenagers at a junior high church camp, united in their enthusiasm for surfing and skating. The members had collaborated with one another in various incarnations before all three joined together to form Tijuana Panthers.
In 2009, the band released its debut 7" single, "Girls Gone Wild" b/w "Creature." Their debut album Max Baker followed soon after. In 2012, Innovative Leisure released the group's second album, Semi-Sweet, and the band went on tour, sharing stages with the likes of Jello Biafra, Ty Segal, the Reverend Horton Heat and Thee Oh Sees. In 2014, Tijuana Panthers released the Wayne Interest LP, also via Innovative Leisure.
