Let Go (LP)

KMFDM
KMFDM, doing it again! The 23rd album from the industrial giants is in my opinion, a more cohesive one than their last record "Hyena." A nonstop ride from start to finish a more appropriate title would have been "Hold Tight" rather than "Let Go!" 2024 also marks the 40th anniversary of KMFDM's "ultra heavy beat" and "conceptual continuity." My love for music began in my hometown of Boyle Heights, L.A where the punk and metal “backyard” scene bred my taste for fast pace in-your-face music. I was introduced to gangster rap/hip hop because of my community in East L.A. who were heavily in the gang lifestyle. So it definitely is my other half, but Metal/punk will always be my primary genres to listen to! I found skateboarding, and its many skate videos which widened my musical taste even further. It opened doors for many other genres of music I used to think I would never listen to. I used to think of it as “crap”, yet here I am today admiring so many more genres than ever. My musical taste has broadened, and it keeps on growing after I began working at Amoeba. Music has brought me inner peace like nothing else ever has! So, next time you think of dismissing away a genre you don’t like, i’d say give it time! Eventually something, or someone will persuade you to think otherwise! Hope y’all like my recommendations!
